I don’t want to start this post out by saying that Metz is a hidden gem. It’s cliche, click baity, and really does a disservice to a laid back, livable city that should really be on more people’s radars. This town was one of the first places we ever visited in mainland Europe and it changed what we look for in a city to visit, and how we looked at history in general.
Getting into a new place late at night, after a long flight can leave you feeling less than enthusiastic. To compound this travelers woe, it does not help that most airports are not in the nicest part of town.
Do not let jet lag, or the airport's location be how you judge a place. If I had done that in Split, I would be missing one of the most beautiful and welcoming places I have ever seen.
Lisbon has a lot of things going for it! Not only is it Europe's second oldest capitol, but it's also the sunniest, making it a favorite destination for both International and European tourists. In a city with so much beauty and history it's hard to narrow a list of things to do down to five, but while you're traversing the winding narrow alleys be sure to check out these five things!
It's no secret that Curtis and I love to share tips about what to do in places we've visited, and we only get more fanatical when someone asks us about what there is to do in our own city, Toronto! My Uncle asked if we'd pass along some information to a friend of his. After quickly jotting down an email, I realized this may actually be helpful to someone else.
Anyone looking to come into the city for the weekend, any self respecting Foodie or anyone who likes to enjoy a hip scene with a cool vibe...(maybe I'm getting a little carried away) will love their time here.
So here is the exact email I sent...
It is no secret that we have fallen in love with Croatia. Throughout our travels we have visited many wonderful countries, but we return time and time again to this coastal gem off the Adriatic. With a rich history, beautiful landscapes and welcoming people, Croatia ticks off many boxes on any travellers wish list.
Whether you love exploring ancient ruins, or just want to lay by the beach, you will not be disappointed. Here are my top 5 reasons Croatia might just become your next vacation destination...
It is no secret that London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. In fact, I have heard it said that it is cheaper to commute from Spain, than to live in this historic city.
This does not surprise me at all. In a city who's population is over 8 million, living expenses are bound to be high. That doesn't even take in to account the appeal to tourists, when you've got history as rich as London's you can pretty much charge what you want, as people will always pay to see the sights.

Ever since the aircraft has been invented, traveling has become a much easier and accessible option for a great majority of the world. This ease has opened up a world of possibilities for the hobbyists and people who like discovering the world at their own pace, however; there are places which have been popular destinations for globe trotters even before the invention of the airplane, but it has certainly made these destinations more accessible.
