We've been to Rome twice before and I thought we'd seen it all, but then we stumbled upon the Torre Argentina. This was the place where Julius Caesar was murdered, so to erase the memory of such a tragic event they turned it into a cat sanctuary. Any tourist can walk in off the street and play and pet hundreds of mangy yet adorable kitty cats. Just don't forget to wash your hands after.
The Time Elevator was a huge rip off. Not only did they try to up-sell repeatedly, even after we had made it clear we only wanted to see one show, but the 45 mins promised was actually 25 min with a 5 min video out front. The best bet when in Italy is to stick to the main historic sites, enjoy a good stroll, and soaking up the energy... not the flashy tourist stuff.

Ah Rome, the eternal city. We love coming back here and this is our third time. We love wandering the streets and are always looking for something new. This time we stumbled across a wax museum, and for e9.00 it seemed like a deal. Although the wax figures were good it was small and probably not worth the admission.
Ciampino Airport is Rome's smaller airport, but is much closer to the city. There are many options to get into the city, but a local bus for e1.20 and a train ticket from the local station for e1.50 gets you there in less than 30 min!
